Artifacts #
What this step produces.
Production / Operations Plan #
A plan describing how the product or service will actually be made and delivered: processes, facilities, suppliers and capacity. It shows the business can operate at the planned volume.
Infrastructure Cost Model #
A calculation of the costs of servers, tools, premises and other infrastructure needed to run the business. It feeds the financial plan with realistic operating expenses.
Operational Staffing Plan #
A plan of which roles and how many people are needed to run daily operations, and when to hire them. It turns the operations plan into a payroll cost.
Techniques #
Techniques used in this step.
Multi-Tier Cost Modeling #
Calculating costs separately for several levels of scale, such as small, medium and large. It shows how expenses grow as the business grows.
Operating Leverage #
Shows how much profit changes when sales change, depending on the share of fixed costs. A high share means bigger gains in growth but bigger losses in decline.
Scalability Cost Model Table #
A table giving the cost of running the business at each scale level, for example by number of users. It lets you see at a glance what growth will cost.
