Artifacts #
What this step produces.
Project Scope Statement #
A document stating what the project will deliver, its boundaries and the criteria for acceptance. It is the shared reference for what is in and out.
Project Deliverables #
The list of the concrete results the project will hand over. It makes the expected outcome tangible and checkable.
Scope Baseline (draft) #
A draft of the approved-to-be scope: scope statement, work breakdown and its dictionary. It is reviewed before it becomes the formal baseline.
Techniques #
Techniques used in this step.
PBI Hierarchy decomposition #
Breaking large backlog items into smaller ones level by level until each can be estimated and delivered. It turns broad scope into manageable pieces.
Scope Inclusion Classification #
Marking each item as in scope, out of scope or deferred. It makes the scope boundary explicit and easy to defend.
